Our team

Dave Stewart

If you take one look at me, you might not guess I’m a strength and conditioning coach, but don’t let appearances fool you. My mission is simple: to make you stronger, more resilient, and fully prepared to face whatever physical challenges life throws your way. I specialize in strength and conditioning with a strong focus on corrective exercise, injury recovery, and fitness for aging populations.

My passion for training started with combat sports: Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Wrestling. In these disciplines, skill matters, but when matched with an equally skilled opponent, it’s strength and conditioning that determines who wins. That lesson stuck with me when I joined the Marines after a rocky first year of college. Passing the physical entrance requirements was a wake-up call that drove me to get in peak condition. Unfortunately, a serious training injury sent me home and straight into months of physical therapy.

Motivated by my own recovery, I studied exercise science and kinesiology with the goal of helping others become stronger after injury or as they age. Life took an unexpected turn and led me to a career on Wall Street, but I never left the gym or the mat. Even after serious injuries to my shoulder and knee in my 30s—and prostate surgery in my 50s—I came back stronger every time. I know what it takes to rebuild from setbacks, because I’ve done it myself.

If you're ready to train for life, not just for looks, I’m here to help you build the strength, resilience, and confidence to take it all on.

Ready to take life on? Let's talk!

Bobby Morel

I learned how to train in some of the least ideal conditions imaginable — in the military, with a sandbag, a pull-up bar, and whatever broken-down equipment we could drag into a makeshift gym overseas. That’s where my fitness journey started: no frills, no excuses, just grit and consistency.

Since then, I’ve spent over 15 years in the fitness industry helping people build real, usable strength. I specialize in helping people get started, build muscle, move with confidence, and train like their life depends on it (because for military and first responders, it often does). I have certifications as a Personal Trainer, a Strength and Conditioning Coach, and as a Tactical Athlete Coach.

I’ve coached everyone from total beginners to seasoned athletes and I’m passionate about helping people who feel like fitness was never made for them… realize that it absolutely is. That's why I opened Coastal Strength.

My training philosophy is simple:
You don’t need fancy. You don’t need perfect. You just need a plan that meets you where you are and a coach who gives a damn.
I believe in showing up consistently, focusing on what you can do, and building strength that carries over into the real world — whether that’s a fire scene, a deployment, or just keeping up with your kids in the backyard.

When I’m not coaching, you’ll usually find me outside with my dogs, sleeping in a tent somewhere, or volunteering with a local non-profit to connect and support veterans in the Rhode Island area.

If you’re looking for a coach who’ll cut through the fluff, talk to you like a human, and help you build real strength that shows up where it matters — I’m here for that.
Let’s set up a free consultation and get to work.
